She and Bill married in 1967 and had two amazing children, Stacie and David, who have filled her life with love and lots of fun!
Barbara has always loved watching all musicals and finally was able to take tap as an adult from Texie Waterman. Ten years later, in 1997, her life became even more fun and exciting when she joined Class Act Tap Company! What a blessing to get to share the joy of tap dancing and wonderful music with audiences all over the metroplex and even on stage in Branson and in Atlantic City.

Bill Wallace
Vocalist
Bill Wallace…..Loving husband, father, not a bad in-law as in-laws go, grandfather regretfully rare reasonable Republican, reader, talker, listener, ‘Horn, singer, songwriter, guitarist and friend to many. No one has probably experienced all of these traits from him (except for “talker”), but somewhere among them you have hopefully encountered a flawed man who cares for his flawed World and his Fellow Man. Whatever impact he may have made on this world will have come from this caring, his bizarre sense-of-humor, and music. Bill has an extensive musical history in Dallas, playing professionally as a singer/guitarist since 1960 and as an 18 year featured member of the Junior League Follies and 10 years featured in the Spectacular Follies. Other recent and current musical activity includes his rock band The Neanderthals (Stone Age Rock ‘n’ Roll), which he has also donated to worthy causes such as Wounded Warriors and SPCA, and Timeless, a vocal harmony group featuring Gary, Steve, and Carmen from the Follies. His family includes wife Denise, 2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, 5 grandkids, 2 grandsons-in-law, and Lily, our precious Chuweenie! (Note to burglars contemplating breaking into our house…don’t worry about Lily, she loves everyone!)

Dallas Tap Dazzlers
Dance Group
With an average age of 71, the Dallas Tap Dazzlers is a 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1990 and not only “still around”… they’re “still kickin!” This exciting ensemble performs multiple times every month entertaining and inspiring groups of all ages. As a result, the Dazzlers are one of the most recognizable and sought-after groups in the Metroplex and beyond.
While the Dazzlers enjoy the benefits of exercise (weekly rehearsals and year-round performances), fresh air (check out any parade in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area), fellowship (most members have been Dazzlers for over ten years) and laughter (just meet any one of these fabulous women and you’ll soon be laughing, too) their REAL reward is realizing they inspire women of every age. After almost 5,000 performances – in heels, fishnets and sparkling costumes – the entire group still loves to dazzle audiences with their high kicks and fast-paced snappy routines. They have had many memorable moments from tapping through Manhattan at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to performing on a Caribbean cruise. They even opened for a Lee Greenwood concert and appeared on Cross Canadian Ragweed’s first music video which was nominated for the “Country Music Video of the Year.”
They have what they believe to be a World Record; eight of their dancers have been crowned Ms. Texas Senior America.
The Dazzlers encourage you to visit their website at http://www.dallastapdazzlers.org.

David Conger
Vocalist
It all started when I was around 5 years old. My father was a drummer, for whom or what I can’t remember. I used to sing when he played. As I got older my family broke up, and mom and I ended up down on the southern coast. I was in elementary school in Ocean Springs, MS when I was asked to play Santa Claus in the school play. I asked why me? I was very tall, very lanky, just not seeing myself as the Santa type. The response was because you can memorize the entire script. Thus went my first acting debut.
We ended up in Huntsville, AL. Because mom worked all the time, I went to after school day care. The owner’s name was Mrs. Tucker. I remember one day she told my mother that she loved taking me with her when she ran errands. She explained “I’ll turn on the radio and David will sing to every song that is played. He is such a joy to listen to.”
And like most boys my age, I decided that I wanted to be a football star. So, I tried out for the school football team. Well, I did make the tryouts, but after about a week, the coach asked to speak with my mother. Apparently, I was big enough, but my feet outgrew my body that year and I was not very coordinated and kept tripping over them. The coach conferred with my mom that he was concerned I may injure myself or others. (When I tripped, I took one or two others down with me). So that was the end of my football aspirations. The next day I was enrolled at Ms. Madeliene’s School of Dance. Needless to say, she cured my coordination issues, and in turn I learned some gymnastics, tap and moving with grace and poise. I took a lot of grief from classmates when they discovered where I went after school 3 days a week, but I only had to put up with it on my days off, and Mrs. Tucker would keep me out of sight when she could. I did get the honor of preforming with Mrs. Tucker’s daughter, Julie. I had such a crush on her, and I got to lift her repeatedly, so I was a happy young man. But then Ms. Madeliene dressed me up as a penguin and put me out in front of all the girls on stage. I was silently humiliated, but I led the dance as I was taught, and the show was a big success. Ms. Madeliene and I also shared the same birthday, so every time I came to class I was greeted at the door with a hug and “There’s my birthday boy.” It was awkward, but I learned so much, specifically how to put one foot in front of the other.
We eventually ended up in Memphis, and I would ride my bike down to Beal Street and hang outside the bars and sing with the bands there. When I was 15, my mother passed, they could not locate my father, so I went to live with my grandmother (mother’s side) in California.
Well again the humiliation and persecution started. Picture a boy with an incredible southern drawl, now 6’ tall, size 13 feet, and most of my sentences started with “May I please”. I don’t think a day went by where I didn’t receive some kind of grief. When the hazing turned physical, I joined the choir, both at school and at church. Most of the peer pressure subsided shortly after that.
I ended up getting A GED and entering the USAF at 17. I had an aptitude for electronics and mathematics, so I scored high on all their tests.
After fulfilling my obligation to the government, I bounced around trying to find where I fit in life. After several years of attempting to be part of something musical, I started feeling that maybe I didn’t have what it takes to be a vocalist. You see, the band thing never worked because it would never fail, we’d get member(s) who either drank too much, was hooked on something, or couldn’t refrain from bad relationships. So, I discovered karaoke. Karaoke means “Empty Orchestra.” Now armed with a band I can call 24 hours a day, who didn’t get sick, drink too much or just have issues that prevented us from performing, I set out to entertain the masses.
After 35 years of walking into various establishments and trying to “WOW” the crowds, I met Marcie Baker, who is an outstanding entertainer in her own right. She introduced me to the Spectacular Follies. From there I’ve met a lot of kind and thoughtful people, but Dee Meece is primarily responsible for me being allowed to entertain you today.
This is my rookie year, so I’m still learning who everyone is and remembering their names. I want to thank everyone who has helped me get this far. If I do entertain you, then express it. If you feel thanks are necessary, then please thank these people who I could not have done this without:
God, the father, the son, and the holy spirit. He gave me this instrument and keeps me supplied with the courage to use it.
Dee Meece – The woman brave enough to put me on a stage.
Marcie Baker – For thinking I was worthy to join this fantastic organization.
The entire board, cast and tech crew of the Spectacular Follies, You ARE the greatest and without you all, none of this would be possible.
Lisa Whitehead – I know there have been days I made you cry, but you are still the one who keeps me sane and within the bounds of reality. I love you.
Bryan McDaniel – Who always found whatever song I needed for whatever reason. For always having a spot for me on the list.
My grandmother, Charolette “Sharky” Hulme. Who rescued me, gave me a home, and helped me pick up the pieces when my whole world came crashing down.
And last, but never least or forgotten…
My mother, Linda Joanne Feaster. No matter the odds or situation, you always found a way to make my days the brightest they could be. Thank you for teaching me manners, politeness, and respect. My life is in God’s hands, but you are the one that put me there. Thank you, because of you I am.

Carmen (Deb Marques Gulledge) is a stage name from her Oahu Community Theater days (1990 to 2000) when she played that character in “Pyjama Game.” She started singing at age 15 in her all female rock band called Rock Candy. She sang gospel music exclusively from 1976 to 1988 opening for Jack Van Impe crusades at the Waikiki Shell. The “Song of Ruth” consisted of mostly childhood friends from Palolo Valley and some studio backup opportunities came to them. Buffy Saint Marie wanted them as backup singers but they declined. She started singing in blues bands upon moving to Dallas. While married to Jack Gulledge she produced music at “The Kichen” recording studio and started “Sing with the band” similar to rock star karaoke. Her show won awards almost every year from D magazine while at the “Goat” in East Dallas.

Deborah Vincent
Vocalist, Dancer
I can’t be more excited to introduce myself as a 2021 Spectacular Follies Showgirl, and as part of the dance and singing ensemble. Growing up in a town of 5000 and living on a farm, I was not given the opportunity for professional dancing and singing training. Although, I loved singing in my church, competing in talent contests, singing at my high school graduation, and dancing at functions whenever I could, just for fun. I chose a career in teaching and taught in the Memphis City Schools. I am so thankful for those many years of teaching experience with underprivileged and special needs children. They taught me so much about life I thought I already knew. I can truthfully say that my motivation today comes from the memory of those children I worked with. Sadly, after 20 years of teaching, my vocal cords suffered some damage. After moving to Texas in 2015, I decided it was time to get active in new and different ways in my life whether I had the training or not. It’s never too late, right!!! This is when I discovered the wonderful organization which allowed me to participate in the Ms Texas Senior Pageant. This group is all about empowering senior women to move forward and make their lives better and healthier each day. To stay productive and active and expand your potential or hidden talents and goals. It is a new era of our lives and we can make it what we want it to be. So, I decided to get therapy and some other interventions which have helped me recover some of my vocal ability and I am so happy that I can now use my voice to entertain. Luckily, free style dancing comes easy for me, but regardless, I wanted to stretch my abilities even further so I decided to take tap dancing lessons at 63. And I am still at it after 6 years!! Singing with my Noteworthy group has given me so much pleasure these past few months as well as performing with our Cameo club for senior living residents. The more I do, the more people I meet who continue to enrich my life and give me incentive to never say never and never quit doing what you love to do. You don’t have to be the best, you just have to do your best and that is all that matters. As a new cast member of the Spectacular Follies, my goal is to be an example that it is never too late to start something new and exciting for yourself.

Phil Alford
Vocalist
This is Phil’s sixth season with the Spectacular Follies, with favorite performances including the Genie from Aladdin singing Never Had a Friend Like Me, and singing the Ray Stevens hit, Mississippi Squirrel Revival. Born in Littlefield, Texas, his family moved to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch near Amarillo, where his parents served as house parents. He had many great opportunities there, including going to the UIL State One Act Play competition his junior and senior years and advancing to state in the FFA Chapter Conducting (parliamentary procedure) contest as presiding officer. He played football, wrestled, high jumped on the track team, and rode bulls in the annual rodeo. His senior year he was asked to lead singing for the weekly chapel services, after which he felt led by God to make church music his vocation. After graduating as valedictorian and being selected as a National Merit Scholar, Phil attended Wayland Baptist College (now University) in Plainview, Texas. While there he was active in music and theatre performances, and graduated magna cum laude. More importantly, he met and married the love of his life, Rhonda. Phil has served as a minister of music in Baptist churches for 46 years, currently part-time at First Baptist Church of Wills Point. He has travelled internationally with the Singing Men of Texas-North Central, a 175 voice choir of music ministers, and has frequently served as a soloist. He also helped establish two southern gospel quartets, Brothers in Glory and The Watchmen Quartet. After a 25 year break from theatre while his three children were growing up, Phil stepped back on to the stage in 2008 as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady at Rockwall Community Playhouse. Since then he has appeared in musicals and plays at Rockwall Community Playhouse, Rockwall Summer Musicals, Garland Summer Musicals, Brick Road Theatre, Repertory Company Theatre, and Company of Rowlett Performers. When he semi-retired 3 years ago, he began performing one hour programs for assisted living, memory care, and senior adult groups, combining singing, story-telling, and some acting. Phil feels that he has been incredibly blessed to have had all these opportunities. As he performs, he loves to help people feel, whether it be through laughter, memories, and even occasionally a few tears.
