Frequently Asked Questions
Q: If auditioning as a group or speciality act, does each member of the group have to be 55 or over?
A: Yes, all Spectacular Follies cast members must be 55 or over, even if they are part of a group or speciality act.
Q: If auditioning as part of a group or speciality act, do I need to complete an Individual Audition form?
A: No, your group leader must complete the Group and Speciality Act form which contains the required information for each member of the group. However, each member of a group or speciality act must complete the Photo Release form and Rehearsal Schedule absence form.
Q: Can I audition for more than one act?
A: Absolutely! You can audition for multiple categories. You will need to set up an audition for each category though. For example, if you want to audition as a vocalist, you will schedule an audition for Vocalist/Instrumentalist. If you’d also like to audition for the dance ensemble, schedule another audition for the dance ensemble. If you are also in a group or speciality act, the group leader would schedule a third audition for that. Show us all your talents!
Q: If auditioning as a solo vocalist, do I also need to schedule an audition for the vocal ensemble?
A: No, a separate audition is not required for vocalists. Everyone who auditions as a solo vocalist will also be considered for the vocal ensemble.
Q: If I don’t want to be a soloist but would like to audition for the vocal ensemble, what do I need to do?
A: Schedule an audition for one of the Vocalist/Instrumentalist time slots and then, when you complete the Individual Audition form, specify on that form that you would like to audition for “Vocal Ensemble.” That’s it!
Q: If auditioning for a dance solo, do I need to schedule an audition for the dance ensemble?
A: Yes, you would need to schedule two auditions: one for the dance solo and one for the dance ensemble During the dance ensemble audition, our choreographer will teach a dance routine to the group as part of the audition.
Q: If I’m auditioning with a group or speciality act that includes dance and would also like to be in the dance ensemble, do I need to schedule an audition for the dance ensemble?
A: Yes, you would need a separate audition for the dance ensemble. During the dance ensemble audition, our choreographer will teach a dance routine to the group as part of the audition.
